I have quite a few friends in the Down syndrome community who have adopted children with Down syndrome from overseas. I admire them all and am, quite honestly, a little envious. I would love to save a child from a death sentence institutionalized living. No joke. Once the children are transferred out of the baby home at age four/five, their chance for survival is grim.
Reece's Rainbow is a 501c3 organization that helps these families bring home children. There are so many kids that need to be saved and I think the #1 reason people say that they would LOVE to bring a child home from overseas, but they don't have the money. Reece's Rainbow has funds set up for the children so you can still help bring one or more kids home to their forever families.
Watch this montage that Andrea, founder of Reece's Rainbow, has put together.
