Last week was the Spring Games for the Special Olympics. Because Ethan is not eight yet, he simply participated and did not get any ribbons. =(
Mary had the honor of running the torch and lighting the flame. I think it is really special that she ran her leg while pushing David in his chair.
Ethan shot hoops, threw bean bags, played golf, bowled, and “ran” an obstacle course. It was a beautiful day and I was so proud of ALL of the participants, especially my little man who continues to improve on his walking skills. I do believe that next year Ethan will be running in his own race!
On the second day of the games, Ethan’s classmate, Kenny, was set to race the 10m. Turned out that there were not any other participants for that particular event, so we asked if Ethan could run alongside Kenny. The officials agreed as long as we understood that Ethan would not get a ribbon. We were fine with that and figured that it would be good practice for NEXT year! I am so proud of both Ethan and Kenny!

What a great day!
