I want to have a conversation with Ethan. I want for him to say something cute that I can share and remember forever.
Seriously, all of you parents with kids who talk incessantly just don't realize how lucky you really are to hear those voices and thought processes come together.

I understand. I'm still waiting for Sebastian. ;-) No seriously, though, I can empathize a little seeing as ALL my children had speech delays. I never heard any of them babble like normal kids. I felt I missed out on something special, a rite of passage, but oh well. They are cool kids, nonetheless, just like Ethan.
ReplyDeleteKristen I too was thinking this trying to have a conversation with Asa last night while he was in the tub, granted our situations are not the same but it kind of went like this, "Did you play with Davo today?" - "Yeah" Did you play with Garrett today?" - "Yeah" Who's Classroom were you in Jenn's or Daynel's?" - "Yeah" So, I'm not sure if we were having a conversation or not, it seemed it at first. I feel share some of your pain, but don't know all of it. It would be lovely to share in a conversation with that cutie patootie!
ReplyDeleteI can't win in my life either. Timmy has been on a talking jag lately. He NEVER shuts up. I get physically exhausted just listening to him. I usually wind up telling him I can't talk to him anymore because I'm too tired. Before Timmy I never would've believed it was possible to reach a state of exhaustion just by listening to someone talk.
ReplyDeleteAnd then there's Kenny...not a word...yep, it sucks.
