I went to Cracker Barrel yesterday to see if they still had some of the "Make A Wish" and "Princess" plaques left. Thankfully, they had one "Make A Wish" left and a few "Princess" ones. I should be able to take them up to Olivia's this week. It still angers me to no end that someone would steal from a little girls grave- ANY grave for that matter, but I take comfort in knowing that I was able to replace the plaques.

ReplyDeleteWe had the same problem with Melanie's grave. We later found out that it was her Bio-mother that was taking all the items left at the site. We even built a special alter that could anchor to it all the items. Diane still took them in the night hours.We rationalized it as Diane holding on to anything an everything that belong to Mel. Very sad. Losing a child. Try not to be too angered by the theft. You just don't know why someone chose to cherish these items for themselves. I know it's hard. My plaques and things also were taken from Mel.
