The Oliver Fire

There is a major fire right by my parents house in Ponderosa Basin (Mariposa). They have been on pre-evac orders since Monday and 15 minute warning since Wednesday. I talked with Kamrin the other morning as I woke her up and she said that it was just really smoky- she even dreamt of smelling smoke! This is not just over the mountain for my parents- it is in the back yard, so to speak. Please pray for my parents home as well as their neighbors and the firefighters that are working so hard to contain the fire. I think that the firefighters pretty much have it under control now. I haven't heard anything new from my mom and the news hasn't updated since Tuesday.

As I searched the internet and Fresno news the other day, I found a video.

Who are the first people that I see??? Yep, that would be my parents! Mommy never passes up a good opportunity for interview!!! LOL!

Hello child...this is the first available time I've had to update you. Currently we still have strike teams sitting in the yard. Front and back. The fire as of this morning is still only 35% contained. Not to be confused with controlled. The fire made its way down into Devels Gulch. As you know Kristen...that's unaccessible for the aircrafts. Signal is in threat of burning. If you go to the CALFIRE website you can keep up on the stats. The smoke is so thick here that even in the house it's tough to breath. That's why the puppies are down at Kim's. The fire is currently at 2,306 acres burned. Hopefully get containment on July 5. Last night's report was they were watching for the fire to run back to the house. That's why the strike team is in the front and back yard. I haven't been able to go to work. Someone has to stay home in case of fire running. Kamrin couldn't take the smoke anymore. She left with her car loaded down. Gotta go for now, child. I'll try to keep ya updated. Don't worry!

Morning,Child. As of this morning we have 40% containment. Hoping to get full containment by July 5th. The strike team that came into position this morning said they've been advised they're going to be around until August so nobody gets vacation time. They're doing their 21 days on and 2days off tour. Gonna be a long haul to get this fire under control. Last 2 days my voice been going out. Fire has wrapped around us toward the apple orchard above us. Jerseydale people in no threat, Signal in threat, tho. Me sad! Stay tuned to CalFire website. Thanks for the thoughts.
