I can't really explain why I can't stand to see RIP when someone passes away. I think it seems impersonal and easy, like Xmas at Christmas time- can't stand that either. So I'm weird, deal with it. LOL!

Hmmm I never really thought about it before, but you're right, it IS kind of like x-mas and THAT totally bugs me! UGH!
ReplyDeleteRIP bugs me too. I do use Xmas some. But I do type put Christmas first then use Xmas to abbreviate later in the paragraph. Does that make sense!?
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the RIP thing... but X-mas... Did you know that X is actually the Greek letter "Chi" and means Christ? So it's not actually "Crossing out" Christ... it's just shortening it :)
ReplyDeleteOk, so I don't love it either, but I don't have a problem with it since I know what it means... Like I write my kids by their first initial all the time...
Anyway, thoughts to ponder LOL :)
